Dear Explorer Family,

Welcome to second grade and Room 42. I’m looking forward to an exciting and productive year.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I’ve lived in Las Vegas for over 15 years. I am married and I have three children, my son who is 17 and in high school, and my twin daughters who are 14 and also in high school. I have been working with the Clark County School District for more than eight years and I love children. I have a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UNLV.

My philosophy of education includes fostering students with sense of responsibility and pride in their educational progress. As parents and teacher, we have a common goal --- to help your child be a happy, well-adjusted learner. I believe that the school and the home must work together to achieve the best results. Therefore, I will keep you informed of your child’s progress as well as activities that will make this a successful and memorable year.

Thank you for coming to our “Explorer Information Sessions” today and it was a pleasure meeting you and your family. If you didn’t make it to our information sessions, I look forward to meeting you soon. Attached to this letter is a packet covering some important information about our class schedule and the objectives for the year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school office at 799-5990 and leave a message for me to contact you or you may send me an email at mmorishige@interact.ccsd.net.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Morishige
